Patent Number: US 10118106 Grant Date: 2018-11-06 Filing Date: 2015-07-03
Overview
This patent describes an embedded interactive toy that combines simple mechanical design with on-board audio processing and low-power electronics to create a configurable “wishing” experience between distinct user groups. Filed July 03, 2015 and granted November 06, 2018, the application—prosecuted for inventors based in Bellaire, TX—claims an integrated circuit (SoC), multiple user-accessible buttons, microphone, speaker, memory and LEDs arranged to playback curated outgoing messages, set a wishing-mode flag, and record incoming messages when granting is enabled. The specification emphasizes robust data structures and device application integration so the toy can operate stand-alone or as part of a networked system that transcribes, sequences, and routes audio records to caregivers or other recipients.
The claim set reflects careful drafting that balances tangible hardware features (outer body, button placement, speaker/microphone layout) with software-controlled behavior (grant flags, shuffling/ sequencing of outgoing messages, pairing and vendor-offer workflows). That hybrid coverage positions the client for broad protection across form factors and companion apps while supporting simple, low-cost manufacturing.
Key Features
- On-board SoC with memory for outgoing/incoming messages and flags
- Multi-button UX with hidden administrative controls
- Local recording/playback plus optional server/app integration for transcription and offers
- LED feedback and low-power battery design
This invention bridges toy design, embedded systems, and user-centered interaction, demonstrating clear relevance to consumer electronics, parenting tools, and interactive learning products.
Invention Details
Abstract: An interactive toy system comprising an outer body, a one or more buttons, an integrated circuit, a battery, a speaker, and a microphone. Said integrated circuit comprising a one or more processors, and a memory. Said memory of said integrated circuit configured to store a one or more outgoing messages comprising a first outgoing message. Said interactive toy is configured to playback said first outgoing message after said first input. Said one or more outgoing messages are associated with a grant flag comprising a true or false value. Said interactive toy is configured to set a wishing mode flag to match said grant flag from said first outgoing message. Said interactive toy is configured to record and store a one or more incoming messages, comprising a first incoming message, after said wishing mode is set to true.
Summary of the Invention: An interactive toy system comprising an outer body, a one or more buttons, an integrated circuit, a battery, a speaker, and a microphone. Said one or more buttons, said battery, said speaker and said microphone are wired into said integrated circuit. Said integrated circuit comprising a one or more processors, and a memory. Said memory of said integrated circuit configured to store a one or more outgoing messages comprising a first outgoing message. Said one or more buttons configured to receive a one or more user inputs comprising a first input from.
A method of using an interactive toy, the method comprising playing a one or more outgoing messages on said interactive toy where said one or more outgoing messages are from a first user each is associated with a grant flag, recording a one or more incoming messages from a second user when said grant flag is set to true on said interactive toy, and transmitting a portion of said one or more incoming and said one or more outgoing messages to said first user. Said interactive toy comprises an outer body, a one or more buttons, an integrated circuit, a battery, a speaker, and a microphone. Said one or more buttons, said battery, said speaker and said microphone are wired into said integrated circuit. Said integrated circuit comprising a one or more processors, and a memory. Said memory of said integrated circuit configured to store a one or more outgoing messages comprising a first outgoing message.
